Essential Oil - Ylang Ylang

Less potent essential oils are used as gentle notes in perfumes, such as colognes, lotions, or soaps. The most subtle form of ylang ylang is often called Cananga oil.

Frankincense essential oil can help reduce anxiety and increase a person's self-esteem when applied to the skin or inhaled. It improves mood, relieves anxiety, and reduces depression. In men, it can help reduce palpitations and lower blood pressure. This oil has a calming and relaxing effect.

How to use ylang-ylang?

Fragrant essential oil of cananga can be mixed with a carrier oil and used for dry skin care and relaxing massages. To reduce the dry feeling of the scalp, you can rub this oil into the scalp. Because ylang ylang irritates some people, you should always do a patch test first and wait 24 hours. Ylang-ylang contains several allergens and should be used with caution when applied to the skin.

Always dilute. For topical use, add one drop of essential oil for every teaspoon of oil. As with other essential oils, do not apply undiluted ylang ylang essential oil to the skin. Ylang ylang should be mixed with oil before being used on a large part of the body, face, or head. Ylang ylang also contains several allergens, such as isoeugenol, which can cause contact dermatitis and irritate the skin if applied for an extended period.

Ylang-ylang is toxic to dogs and cats. Do not use ylang ylang on your pet's skin, paws, or fur, or in places where your pet can lick or inhale it.

Store properly. Store in an opaque glass container in a cool, dark place.

Use and monitor its quality. Ylang ylang has a long shelf life, but never use oil that has passed its expiration date or whose scent has changed.

Use with water in a diffuser. Ylang ylang can also be inhaled as an aromatherapy treatment using a room diffuser.
